THOMAS CASILEAR COLE (AMERICAN, 1888 - 1976), "LADY IN GOWN", DEPICTS YOUNG AUBURN-HAIRED WOMAN IN PROFILE, DRESSED IN FLORAL SLEEVE...Thomas Casilear Cole (American, 1888 - 1976), "Lady in Gown", depicts young auburn-haired woman in profile, dressed in floral sleeveless gown and shawl, dark toned background, no signature viewed but reported in museum notes to have been located at upper right, in newer frame, wear consistent with age including craquelure, toning, old stretcher marks, etc., sold as found, ss: 24" x 20". [PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned to benefit the Slater Memorial Museum's acquisition fund.]

Cole, Sanford, North Carolina, 10-1/2 in., minor surface abrasions. All in good condition.
